New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party Minority Front has announced a nationwide initiative aimed at encouraging Muslim girls to join the Indian Army. The campaign will also highlight 11 years of the Modi government’s tenure and promote awareness of constitutional rights among Muslims, reported the RisingKashmir.
Jamal Siddiqui, National President of the BJP Minority Front, stated that beginning June 9, the organisation will launch a programme across the country to motivate Muslim women to become Agniveers.
“We will conduct special outreach through chaupals set up at dargahs and madrasas. The idea is to empower Muslim girls and break the narrative of religious conservatism that restricts them,” Siddiqui said in a press statement.
He further asserted that Islam does not prevent women from stepping out and working, adding, “Some fundamentalists want to confine Muslim women, but Islam gives them the freedom to pursue a career. We will also distribute copies of the Indian Constitution to raise awareness about their rights.”
As part of this initiative, a major event is also being planned at Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh, a site known for past protests.
This move is being seen as a strategic outreach to minority communities, particularly women, by the BJP’s minority wing.
However, it’s quite amusing that the same BJP which often criticizes Islamic practices is now suddenly championing Muslim women’s rights—one wonders what the real motive behind this newfound concern might be.
