BJP Whistleblower Booked for Molestation in Connection with Prajwal Revanna Case

11 May 2024: The Karnataka political landscape has been rocked by a recent development in the Prajwal Revanna case, as BJP leader Devaraje Gowda finds himself embroiled in a molestation and sexual harassment case. Gowda, who initially flagged Prajwal Revanna’s alleged sexual misconduct, has now been detained by the Karnataka Police in connection with these charges.

It all began when Devaraje Gowda raised concerns within the BJP leadership regarding Prajwal Revanna’s alleged sexual abuse of multiple women. This cautionary move aimed to dissuade the party from offering a Lok Sabha ticket to the JD(S) MP from Hassan. However, the tables turned when Gowda himself became the subject of a police investigation.

The allegations against Gowda are serious, with a woman accusing him of molesting her over a span of ten months under the guise of assisting her in property transactions. Additionally, the woman’s husband filed a complaint stating that Gowda intruded into their home, issuing threats and verbal abuse.

The FIR details paint a grim picture of prolonged harassment, including incidents where Gowda allegedly took the woman to isolated locations and subjected her to further molestation while threatening her life and that of her husband.

Currently, the Prajwal Revanna case is under the scrutiny of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) comprising Karnataka state police officers. Multiple FIRs have been registered against Revanna, with charges ranging from rape to intimidation and blackmail.

As the investigation unfolds, Devaraje Gowda’s involvement adds a layer of complexity to an already tumultuous political scenario. With both accuser and accused now under investigation, the truth behind the allegations in the Prajwal Revanna case remains to be fully revealed.
