Bhiwandi: A grand book launch event was held on Sunday at GM Momin Women’s College Hall, celebrating two works by Abdul Malik Momin—Mashahir Bhiwandi and Umrah wa Hajj ke Shab-o-Roz. The event was presided over by Mohammad Aslam Faqih, former president of KME Society, who described Mashahir Bhiwandi as a documentary masterpiece worthy of PhD-level recognition.
The event commenced with a Quranic recitation by Qari Izhar Sahib, followed by the introduction of distinguished guests, including Maulana Abu Zafar Hassan Nadvi, Sharif Hasan Momin, and representatives from Al-Hamra Education Society. Momin Bilal Ahmad, a National Award-winning former principal, introduced the dignitaries, while Simab Momin moderated the event.
The books were unveiled in a formal ceremony – Mashahir Bhiwandi by Aslam Faqih and Salim Rahmatullah, and Umrah wa Hajj ke Shab-o-Roz by Maulana Abu Zafar Hassan Nadvi. The book received high praise, with Muhammad Rafi Ansari presenting a thought-provoking paper, and Ameer Hamza Saqib emphasizing its historical value. Suresh Taware recommended a Marathi translation, recognizing the book’s broader appeal.
The event witnessed active participation from the local non-Muslim community, a gesture appreciated by attendees. The Literary Circle of Bhiwandi honored the author with floral tributes, marking a significant moment in the city’s literary landscape. The ceremony concluded with expressions of gratitude by Abdul Malik Momin, acknowledging the overwhelming support for his work.
