Trump Claims Ceasefire Between Israel and Iran, Tehran Denies Any Agreement

Washington: In a surprising announcement, U.S. President Donald Trump declared that Israel and Iran had reached an agreement on a temporary ceasefire amid escalating tensions.
Posting on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump wrote:
“It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a complete and total CEASEFIRE… for 12 hours, at which point the war will be considered ENDED!”
However, Iranian officials promptly refuted the claim, stating that Tehran had not received any such proposal and saw no justification to halt its military response against both Israel and the United States.
Speaking to CNN, a senior Iranian official said,
“At this very moment, the enemy is committing aggression against Iran, and Iran is on the verge of intensifying its retaliatory strikes. We see no truth in the statements of Israeli or U.S. leaders — they are a deception to cover ongoing attacks.”
Tehran confirmed that its stance remains unchanged and that it will continue to respond forcefully to any acts of aggression.
The claim of a ceasefire by President Trump comes amidst increasing international concern over the possibility of a wider regional war, following Iran’s series of retaliatory strikes under its ongoing Operation True Promise.
As of now, neither the Israeli government nor the Iranian authorities have officially confirmed any ceasefire agreement.
