BSP Plans Noida Outreach to Rebuild Dalit Muslim Support in West UP

Lucknow: The Bahujan Samaj Party has begun preparations for a public meeting in Noida on December 6 to strengthen its Dalit Muslim outreach in west Uttar Pradesh. The move comes two months after the party held a state level rally in Lucknow. Senior leaders inspected the Rashtriya Dalit Prerna Sthal on Wednesday. Party sources confirmed that planning for the event is underway. They said BSP national president Mayawati will address supporters at the gathering.

The party aims to rebuild support among Dalit and Muslim voters in west UP. These groups have shaped elections in the region for decades. Party cadres from eight divisions of west UP are likely to attend the meeting. They expect directions from Mayawati on how to reconnect with voters who moved away from the party after 2012.

The party’s Dalit and Muslim bhaichara committees remain active in west UP. Jatavs, a core BSP voter base, are concentrated in this belt. The party points to the 2019 Lok Sabha results as proof of the strength of Dalit Muslim combinations. BSP, in alliance with the Samajwadi Party, won ten seats in UP. Four of these victories came from west UP. Nagina, Saharanpur, Amroha and Bijnor all had strong Dalit and Muslim support.

The December 6 event holds symbolic importance. It marks the death anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar. The day is one of three events observed by the party every year. Party leaders said the Noida meeting will be followed by more public meetings across UP. These events will help the party review its position and assess opportunities in different regions.
