In Rajasthan’s Beawar district, the alleged blackmailing case involving schoolgirls and mobile phones has been unjustly linked to the accused’s religion. Various media outlets and organizations have been presenting the case with a communal angle, which is inappropriate. Despite the arrest of the accused, calls for street protests by different groups are increasing the risk of social unrest and tension.
The Students Islamic Organisation (SIO) Rajasthan has demanded a fair investigation into the matter and strict punishment for those found guilty. At the same time, SIO has appealed to all parties involved to play a constructive role in maintaining peace and harmony in society.
The attack on the accused by lawyers within the court premises has been condemned as an unacceptable act. Furthermore, using this incident as a basis for municipal authorities to demand documents related to the accused’s family homes, the community mosque, and the cemetery is unjustified. Sealing the gate of the cemetery is also seen as an unfair move. The bulldozer action carried out on the accused’s house is a direct violation of Supreme Court orders. The introduction of ‘bulldozer culture’ in Rajasthan, following trends seen in other states, is deemed unacceptable.
SIO Rajasthan has criticized the administration’s approach, stating that it appears to be driven by a sense of vendetta against a particular community. The organization has urged the authorities to act with impartiality and in accordance with the law.
