Bus Blasts in Israel Labeled as ‘Suspected Terror Attack’ by Police

Tel Aviv, Israel – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered a heightened security operation against what he called “terror hubs” in the West Bank following explosions on parked buses in Bat Yam, near Tel Aviv. The Israeli authorities suspect the blasts were a terrorist attack, though no injuries were reported.
The explosions occurred on Thursday, the same day Israel was mourning the return of four hostage bodies from Gaza under a ceasefire deal with Hamas. Police discovered additional undetonated explosives on two buses, which were defused by bomb squads. Authorities confirmed that all five devices were similar and timer-equipped.
Bat Yam’s mayor, Tzvika Brot, called it a “miracle” that there were no casualties, as the buses had already completed their routes. The Israeli military swiftly imposed movement restrictions and launched operations in the West Bank. While no group has claimed responsibility, a faction linked to Hamas’ hinted at involvement.
Security forces are investigating whether a single individual or a coordinated group planted the explosives. The attack has raised concerns over escalating violence in the region.
