Calls for Reform Mark First Day of Dawat-e-Islami Gathering

Govandi: The two-day annual Dawat-e-Islami gathering commenced at Deonar Ground here Saturday. The opening address was delivered by Waqar Attari on the “Religious and Worldly Benefits of Salah”. He emphasised that mastering the correct method of offering Salah elevates its value and announced the launch of the “Faizan-e-Salah Course,” starting January 1, to teach the obligations and essentials of Salah.

Haji Abu Bakr Attari spoke on “Parenting in the Modern Era”, providing valuable advice on raising children and protecting them from negative influences. He underscored that good parenting is the backbone of a peaceful society, and gave anecdotes highlighting the importance of moral upbringing.

Maulana Bilal Madani elaborated on “Gratitude for Blessings”, urging attendees to appreciate Allah’s blessings through acts of thankfulness, including reciting Salawat. He stressed the value of maintaining gratitude to sustain blessings in this world and elevate one’s rank in the Hereafter.

Haji Yusuf addressed the topic “Virtues of Halal and Warnings Against Haram”. He cited a Hadith stating that consuming halal sustenance enlightens the heart and brings wisdom to one’s speech. He encouraged the audience to earn and consume halal earnings for a prosperous and blessed life.

The event, opened with Quran recitation after Zuhr prayer, concluded with a prayer after Isha prayer on Sunday.

The gathering also announced plans to establish a dedicated madrasa for visually impaired students. It witnessed a large turnout of devoted attendees, inspired to embrace a life of piety, gratitude, and righteousness.
