Aligarh: The Centre of Continuing and Adult Education and Extension (CCAEE), Aligarh Muslim University organised a lecture on Financial Literacy under the Smart SEBI’s Investor Awareness Programme of National Stock Exchange (NSE).
Delivering the lecture, Mr Aqeel-ur-Rehman, a SMART-SEBI representative, covered various aspects of financial literacy, including Mutual Funds, Sovereign Gold Bonds, personal financial management, budgeting and investment.
He stated that financial literacy makes one capable of having a smart relationship with money, which helps people to manage the financial aspects of their life. He guided the learners on how to deal with Mutual Funds and urged the participants to first get acquainted with the basics of financial literacy, including short-term borrowing, long-term budget forecasting and management of debt, before investing in mutual funds.
The Director of the Centre, Dr. Shamim Akhtar urged the learners to make a diary of daily expenditure and periodically analyse the overall expenditure to manage their money or help people in their circle how to manage their wealth. He also extended a vote of thanks.
