Celebrating Eid with Children Amplifies Joy: Syed Tanveer Ahmed Encourages Community Involvement

New Delhi, April 8: In a heartwarming Eid Message, Syed Tanveer Ahmed, National Secretary of the Children Training Department of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, emphasized the importance of including children in Eid celebrations to elevate the joyous occasion. According to him, spending time with children during Eid festivities significantly enhances the overall happiness experienced during this special time.

“Children are the flowers of heaven,” remarked Ahmed, underscoring the significance of cherishing and nurturing the young ones during Eid celebrations. He urged the Muslim community to extend warm greetings and blessings to children, students, and parents across the nation as they mark this auspicious occasion.

Highlighting a critical aspect, Ahmed expressed concern over certain practices where children are not welcomed with kindness in Eidgahs and mosques but are scolded instead. He advocated for special arrangements to be made in these places to ensure children are embraced and made to feel valued during Eid prayers and gatherings.

Moreover, he stressed the need for Imams and preachers to engage with children post-Eid prayers, impart blessings, and inspire them with encouraging words. Addressing prevalent societal challenges during Eid, he noted the unhealthy trend of displaying materialism through expensive attire and suggested a shift towards a more meaningful celebration.

Ahmed emphasized the importance of teaching children values beyond material possessions. He urged for a collective effort to foster a sense of equality among children, teaching them that true worth is measured by moral character, not material belongings.

To foster compassion and inclusivity, Ahmed proposed inviting non-Muslim children to homes for traditional Eid delicacies, encouraging children to reach out to relatives and teachers with warm wishes, and promoting a spirit of kindness and sharing among all.

As Eid approaches, Ahmed called upon the Muslim community to exemplify Islamic values of joy and unity, especially through the lens of children, fostering an environment where happiness is celebrated in harmony with the teachings of Islam.

This Eid, the message resonates clear: embracing children during festivities not only amplifies joy but also reinforces the true essence of Eid al-Fitr within the community.
