Central Government Appeals Court to Dismiss Ajmer Sharif Case

The Hindu Sena faced a significant setback in the dispute over the shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer, which they claim was originally a Shiva temple. The central government has recommended the dismissal of the case, reported the Times of India.
During a hearing at the Ajmer district court, the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs presented its affidavit, asserting that the Hindu Sena’s claim of an ancient Shiva temple at the shrine has no legal basis and no justification for the court to proceed with the case.
The ministry also criticized the case for being an attempt by the Hindu Sena to attract public attention without any legal standing. They noted discrepancies between the original and translated texts of the case and mentioned that the opposing parties were not given an opportunity to present their viewpoints during the hearing on November 27 last year.
Following the government’s recommendation, the court adjourned the hearing, and the next date has been set for May 31. Hindu Sena President, Vishwa Gupta, stated that any flaws in the case would be rectified. The Muslim side welcomed the government’s position. Muslim lawyer Ashish Kumar Singh confirmed that they have always questioned the legitimacy of the allegations.
