New Delhi: The government of Uttar Pradesh (UP) recently issued a circular regarding madrasas, which has caused significant concern, particularly among Islamic madrasas and the general public in UP. The circular from the government was found to be weak on various fronts, and at the same time, it is essential to recognize the challenges that Islamic madrasas are currently facing.
In light of this, the Markazi Taleemi Board of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind organized a discussion to address the challenges faced by madrasas and the recent circular issued by the UP government. The discussion featured contributions from Maulana Tahir Madani (Secretary, Milli Affairs, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, UP East), Dr. Salman Asad (Director, Jamiatul Salehat, Rampur), and Mr. Haseeb Ahmed (former civil servant). The session was moderated by Syed Tanveer Ahmed (Secretary, MTB-JIH).
During the discussion, there was an in-depth exploration of the government’s circular, its impact, and the roadmap for the future of Islamic madrasas. The challenges that Islamic madrasas face in the present era were thoroughly analysed, and potential solutions were discussed.
