CIO Holds Grand Tree Plantation Campaign and Convention in Jalgaon

Jalgaon: The Children’s Islamic Organisation of India (CIO), a children’s wing of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, conducted a nationwide tree plantation campaign titled “Hands in Soil, Heart with the Nation” from June 25 to July 26, 2025. The campaign aimed to promote tree plantation and protect the environment from pollution. All programs under this campaign were organised by children, including press conferences, speeches before Friday prayers in mosques, presenting saplings to government officials, and delivering talks on the importance of tree plantation in schools.

During the campaign, competitions such as speech contests, drawing, quizzes, video making, and poster making were also held. The campaign concluded with a Convention Day. On Sunday, August 17, a grand convention programme was organised at the hall of Masjid Noor in Jalgaon, hosted by Abdullah Yusuf Sheikh. The recitation and translation of the Quran were presented by Zaneer Nazim, while the inaugural address was delivered by Zainab Yusuf Sheikh.

The CIO teams from Mehrun and Usmania Park presented two skits, while the Katia Feel team performed a tarana (anthem). Shirah Abdullah delivered a speech in English. Prizes for various competitions were distributed by the guests. Chief guest Nilofar Iqbal spoke on the responsibilities of mothers in the context of current affairs, while Nasreen Baji, in her concluding address, emphasised environmental protection and the upbringing of children. The programme concluded with a prayer and a vote of thanks. It saw the participation of 60 children and 50 mothers.
