New Delhi, May 23: The Department of Children Islamic Organisation, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, conducted an online training program for CIO mentors on Monday. The Children Islamic Organization (CIO) runs units across the country, focusing on nurturing leadership skills in children aged 5 to 14. Various training programs are organized for mentors who dedicate their services to this cause.
The recent program, titled “Arts and Science of Parenting Tips for Mentors,” featured guidance from JIH Vice President, S. Ameenul Hasan. The session began with a recitation of the Quran by Nasreen Shakir, followed by opening remarks from Khan Mubashira Firdous, Assistant Secretary, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind.
- Ameenul Hasan addressed the mentors on fostering harmony between children and their parents, emphasizing the importance of keeping parents engaged in their child’s developmental milestones. He advised mentors on educating parents about the science of parenting, highlighting the need for patience and emotional balance to nurture well-rounded personalities in children.
Discussing the scope of parenting, Hasan explained that if parents are unable to dedicate time to their children due to various constraints, CIO mentors should step in to encourage and support the children. Mentors were also encouraged to conduct parenting sessions to teach effective child-rearing techniques.
He stressed the importance of creating an environment within CIO that fills the gaps in children’s personalities and provides them with positive social interactions. Hasan concluded by urging CIO mentors to become a vital resource for training in society.
The program included a Q&A session, with participation from 300 mentors. The session was convened by Hina Rab.
