National Campaign Convener
As the final week of the Children Islamic Organisation’s (CIO) nationwide plantation campaign unfolds, it brings to a close a powerful movement that has echoed across cities, towns, and villages of India. The campaign, titled “Hands in Soil, Hearts with India,” has mobilised tens of thousands of children in an extraordinary environmental effort – not just to plant trees, but to sow the seeds of responsibility, awareness, and lifelong stewardship for the Earth.
Over the past several weeks, the campaign has seen overwhelming participation from schools, madrasas, masjids, and community centres. From the planting of saplings to essay contests, eco-art activities, street plays, public talks, and interfaith tree plantation ceremonies – this has been a movement of young minds and tender hands leading with strength and sincerity.
“This campaign may be concluding, but the mission will live forever,” says Hina Farhaan, National Convenor of the campaign. “What began as a tree-planting initiative has become a character-building movement. The real growth is not just in the soil – but in the hearts of our children.”
A Campaign Rooted in Values
While the statistics speak volumes – with lakhs of trees planted across multiple states – the core strength of this campaign has been its spiritual and ethical foundation. Children were taught that planting a tree is a Sunnah, a sadaqah jariyah, and an act of love for Allah’s creation. Guided by the values of Islam, the plantation drive encouraged children to take ownership of nature, to care, protect, and nurture life in all its forms.
Workshops, tree adoption ceremonies, environmental khutbahs, and family plantation drives further enriched the campaign. It was more than just an ecological effort – it was a mission to revive a prophetic connection with nature.
Concluding Programmes: Celebration and Reflection
The final week marks the culmination of this grand campaign, with state-wise and national-level concluding programmes being held both online and on-ground. These events include:
🏆 Recognition of Outstanding Contributors
🎓 Children presenting their experiences
📊 Sharing of plantation data and success stories
🕊 Dua gatherings for sustainability and barakah
The National Online Concluding Event is scheduled for Tuesday, July 29, at 7:45 PM, where CIO leadership, state convenors, and young champions will come together to reflect, celebrate, and renew their commitment to the cause.
The Mission Continues
Though the campaign will formally conclude, CIO has declared its intention to keep the mission alive throughout the year. Future phases will include:
Tree care and follow-ups
Environmental clubs and ongoing awareness drives
Interfaith green dialogues and school-based eco-initiatives
As one young participant beautifully wrote in her essay,
“Humne sirf ped nahi lagaye, humne umeed lagayi hai – ke kal hamara hara bhara hoga.”
Indeed, the CIO plantation campaign concludes with millions of saplings in the soil – and a million dreams growing in young hearts.
