Port Blair, Feb. 17: In solidarity with the nationwide industrial strike and Gramin Bandh, as well as to advocate for the regularization of services for Daily Rated Mazdoors under the Administration, the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) has announced plans to orchestrate widespread demonstrations across the Andaman & Nicobar Islands on Friday.
Commencing at 4 p.m., a mass procession is scheduled to commence from Tiranga Park here. The procession will navigate through key points of the town before culminating back at Tiranga Park, where a public meeting will ensue. Participation in both the procession and meeting is anticipated from workers representing various unions operating within Port Blair and the South Andaman areas.
