Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Cup, a prestigious State Level 5s Football Tournament organised by Coimbatore Sports Club and Dream Academy of Sports, in collaboration with the Coimbatore District Football Association, concluded successfully after two thrilling days of matches on 9th and 10th August 2025 at the CBE Sports Club Turf, Sivaram Nagar, Sungam Bypass, Coimbatore.
The tournament brought together some of the most talented young footballers from across Tamil Nadu, with over 50 teams and 500+ players participating across four age categories.
Day 1 – 9 August (Under-10 & Under-12 categories): Over 200 players from 20+ teams born between 2013 and 2017 competed enthusiastically.

Day 2 – 10 August (Under-14 & Under-16 categories): More than 300 players from 30+ teams born between 2009 and 2012 showcased their skills in intense matches.
The event was graced by distinguished guests across both days, including UK Umar al Khattab – Indian National Congress, Minority Division; Abdul Hakkim – Swachh Bharat Ambassador, Coimbatore Corporation; Anil Kumar – Secretary, Coimbatore District Football Association; and Shiva Subramanian – Zonal Secretary, Coimbatore District Football Association
Trophies were awarded to winners and runners-up in each category, alongside individual awards for standout players and coaches.
At the closing ceremony, Arsath Mohammed, Founder of Dream Academy of Sports and Coimbatore Soccer Schools, and AFC C-License Coach, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all players, coaches, organisers, and supporters for ensuring the event’s grand success. He also thanked the Coimbatore District Football Association for their collaboration in promoting grassroots football in the region.
