Coimbatore Protesters Condemn Israel’s Actions in Gaza, Urge Indian Government to Act

Coimbatore: Hundreds of people gathered in Coimbatore on October 3 to protest against Israel’s ongoing military actions in Gaza. The demonstration, organized by several Muslim organizations and civil society groups, accused Israel of committing genocide against Palestinians and urged the Indian government to take a firm stand.

Protesters marched through the city carrying Palestinian flags and placards reading “Stop the genocide” and “Free Palestine.” Participants included students, activists, religious scholars, and local residents. They expressed solidarity with the people of Gaza and called for justice and international accountability.

Speakers at the event condemned what they described as systematic attacks on civilians in Gaza. They said silence from global powers has emboldened Israel to continue its assault. The protestors demanded that India suspend its diplomatic and trade ties with Israel and raise the issue at the United Nations and other international platforms.

Community leaders emphasized that support for Palestine is a matter of humanity and conscience. “We stand with the oppressed wherever they are,” said one of the organizers, calling on Indian citizens to push their representatives to speak out.

The protest in Coimbatore reflects growing public anger across India over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Similar demonstrations have taken place in other states as awareness about the suffering of Palestinians continues to rise.
