Stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui has reportedly been threatened by a criminal organization headed by incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is presently being investigated by the Mumbai police for his alleged connection to the murder of former minister Baba Siddique.
The Mumbai Police have provided security to Faruqui due to threats from the Bishnoi gang. A police representative reportedly stated that they obtained information regarding a possible threat to the comedian from the gang. Although the specific reason for the threat remains uncertain, the police are actively investigating to gather further details.
In recent years, Faruqui has encountered accusations from Hindu organizations asserting that he offended their sentiments during one of his performances, a claim he has categorically rejected. The disclosure regarding another celebrity being pursued by the Bishnoi syndicate follows the police’s arrest of three alleged gang members since Saturday night, when three attackers opened fire on Siddique in Bandra (East).
