Communal Tension Erupts in Telangana Over Flag Erection; Police Intervene

Hyderabad: Tensions escalated in Vikarabad district of Telangana on Wednesday following a dispute between the Hindu and Muslim communities over the erection of a flag. The conflict began when a group from the Muslim community placed a green flag at the old bus stand, which was subsequently removed and thrown onto the road by members of the Hindu community, reported India Today.

The situation quickly intensified, prompting police to arrive on the scene. In an effort to control the crowd and restore order, law enforcement resorted to lathicharge. Senior police officials are currently monitoring the situation to prevent further escalation.

Authorities are urging both communities to maintain peace and refrain from actions that could lead to further unrest. The incident underscores ongoing communal sensitivities in the region, and efforts are underway to mediate between the groups involved.
