Complaint Filed Against Hawa Mahal MLA Balmukund Acharya, Demanding Membership Termination

Jaipur: Advocate Kashif Zuberi and Ikramuddin alias Tipu filed a complaint against Hawa Mahal MLA Balmukund Acharya, a BJP representative, with the Rajasthan Assembly Speaker. The complaint accuses Acharya of violating the oath under Article 188 and the Third Schedule of the Constitution. The complainants demand the immediate termination of his membership.
The complaint states that Acharya, while taking the oath, vowed to uphold the country’s unity, integrity, and sovereignty. However, his actions have allegedly violated this oath. Over the past 1-2 years, he has reportedly targeted a specific religious community, threatening the dignity of the Constitution and national unity.
Incidents Cited:
Forcing shopkeepers of a specific community to shut down.
Obstructing a Shia procession and entering a Shia religious site.
Misbehaving at an Aadhaar center.
Causing disturbances at Jaipur’s Jama Masjid.
The complainants highlighted India’s democratic values and the Constitution’s secular principles. They emphasized that an elected representative must treat all communities equally, but Acharya’s actions go against these principles.
The complaint urges the Assembly Speaker to review Acharya’s membership and take immediate action to protect national unity and the Constitution’s dignity. The letter was submitted to the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Secretariat, Jyoti Nagar, Jaipur. No official response has been received so far.
