Congress Leader Criticizes Absence of Muslim Representation in Modi Government

Thiruvananthapuram, June 12: K. Sudhakaran, President of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) and Lok Sabha member from Kannur, has sharply criticized the absence of Muslim representation in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s third cabinet, labeling it as “extremely undemocratic.”

In a statement, Sudhakaran highlighted the exclusion of the Muslim community from the ruling party’s parliamentary representation, pointing out that not a single Member of Parliament from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) belongs to the Muslim community. “It is extremely undemocratic that the country’s Muslim population has been completely excluded,” Sudhakaran asserted, emphasizing that inclusive representation is fundamental to a democratic system.

Sudhakaran also referenced Modi’s controversial remarks during the Lok Sabha election campaign, accusing the Prime Minister of ascending to power through divisive rhetoric. He reaffirmed the strength of the opposition, particularly the INDIA Front led by Congress, and expressed confidence in their ability to unite people across communities.

This critique comes amidst a backdrop of heightened political activity, with the Congress party striving to galvanize support ahead of upcoming elections.
