Hyderabad: Former Chief Minister of Telangana and Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) president, K Chandrasekhar Rao has accused the Congress party of using the Muslim community only for votes.
He alleged that the Congress party never did anything for the welfare of Muslims. He also slammed the Congress government for failing to implement its promises.
KCR said all sections of people were betrayed by the Congress party by making false promises.
KCR, whose party lost power to Congress in November 2023 after ruling the state for nearly 10 years, claimed that it was only the BRS government which paid honorarium to imams and muezzins. He said it was BRS which honoured imams and muezzins and opened best residential schools for children of minorities, backward classes, scheduled castes and scheduled tribes.
The BRS leader said people of Telangana have learnt a good lesson by voting for the Congress.
Addressing BRS leaders and cadre from Zahirabad constituency, KCR said BRS government worked for welfare and development of all sections of people. He alleged that Congress came to power by making fake promises and stopped even those schemes which were being implemented in the past.
Stating that he is keenly watching the Congress government’s performance with patience and would hit back strongly at the right time on the failures.
“I cautioned people not to fall for fake promises of the Congress but people fell for the 10 grams gold (promise) and voted for Congress,” he said.
Similarly, he had cautioned people about Congress diluting the Rythu Bandhu and Dalita Bandhu during the State Assembly election campaign itself.
Stating that BRS would see good days, he asked the people to get ready for a fight against the government and its promises.
He announced a massive public meeting in the last week of February.
“I have been watching the Congress administration silently for the last one year. But it is time to take up a direct fight. I would not strike my opponents easily, as it has to be decisive and forceful. People of Telangana as well as Congress leaders are well aware of it,” he said.
