– Raheem Khan

Jaipur: As part of Constitution Fortnight 2024, the Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR) organised a seminar on the theme “Justice for All” at its Adarsh Nagar office. Senior Advocate Prem Kishan Sharma, the event’s chief guest, emphasised that ensuring justice for all is the executive’s foremost duty. He highlighted that universal access to justice fosters societal equality and harmony.

Sawai Singh, President of Rajasthan Samgra Seva Sangh, remarked, “An ideal society is one where justice is easily accessible to all citizens.”

Expressing his concerns, Syed Saadat Ali, President of APCR Rajasthan, stressed that without appointing judges proportional to the population, achieving speedy justice would remain a challenge.

R.C. Sharma, Working President of Rajasthan Nagrik Manch, pointed out the critical role of an independent and impartial judiciary in delivering justice equitably.

The seminar featured insights from various speakers, including social worker Firozuddin and advocates Umesh Sharma, Nadeem, and Shahid. Muzammil Rizvi moderated the discussion.

Basant Haryana, General Secretary of the Rajasthan Nagrik Manch, emphasised the importance of such discussions in raising public awareness about justice and citizen rights. He described justice as the cornerstone of a fair society and called for its universal accessibility.

A gathering of lawyers, social activists, and citizens deliberated on critical issues such as the need for an independent judiciary, swift trials, and equitable access to justice. The event underscored the importance of justice as the bedrock of a just and inclusive society.
