Court Rejects Revision Petition of Muslim Side in Teele Wali Mosque Case in Lucknow

Lucknow, Mar 3: After Gyanvapi Masjid, the Hindu side petitioned that the Teele Wali Masjid was built after demolishing the temple. The court allowed the case but the Muslim side filed a revision petition against that order, which has been rejected by the court. ADJ I’s court on Wednesday rejected the revision petition of the Muslim side.

The court of additional district judge-I (ADJ-I) Prafull Kamal has allowed Hindu litigants to appeal in a lower court for a survey of the Teele Wali Masjid in Lucknow. The ADJ court quashed the contention of Muslim litigants that the case is not maintainable.

In 2013, a petition was filed in the Sessions Court of Lucknow on behalf of Lord Sheshnagesh Tileshwar Mahadev Virajman, saying that the Teele Wali Mosque of Lucknow is actually Laxman Tila and they should be given the ownership rights and the right to worship there. The petition said that there was Lakshman Tila and temple there but at the behest of Aurangzeb it was demolished and a Masjid was built there.

In this case, an application was filed on behalf of Maulana Mannan and it was said that the Hindu side has not given the reason for filing its suit. Therefore the suit should be dismissed. Civil Judge Piyush Bharatiya rejected Maulana Mannan’s application on 6 September 2023. Maulana had challenged the order of the lower court. The ADJ court also rejected it.

Also, the book “Ankaha Lucknow” by former MP late Lalji Tandon claimed that old Lucknow was built near Laxman Tila.
