New Delhi: CPI (M) condemned Israeli airstrikes on Gaza that killed over 400 people and urged the Indian government to openly oppose Israel’s aggression.
The Polit Bureau stated, “Israel’s latest criminal aggression has killed over 400 people, mostly women and children in a single day. By this criminal aggression, Israel has signaled it is backing out from the second phase of the ceasefire which would have brought peace and an end to hostilities.”
The massacre follows a complete blockade of food, fuel, water, and medicines to Gaza since March 2.
CPI (M) blamed US President Donald Trump for supporting Israel’s attack. “The Trump administration is conniving with this latest aggression by Israel, which aims to flatten Gaza and starve the people out of their homeland.”
It demanded an immediate halt to Israel’s actions and the enforcement of a ceasefire, saying peace-loving people worldwide demand it.
Criticizing the Indian government’s silence, CPI (M) said, “The Modi government must come out openly against the aggressive actions of Israel. It cannot remain silent when an entire people are being subjected to starvation and mass deaths.”
The Polit Bureau urged its units to protest against Israel’s genocide and demand an immediate ceasefire and peace settlement.
