Jaipur, August 18: The Rajasthan State Committee of Communist Party of India (Marxist) has voiced serious concerns over a recent violent incident at a government school in Bhattiyani Chauhatta, Udaipur, where a student stabbed another student. The CPI(M) has raised pressing questions about the presence of a knife on school premises and emphasized the need for a thorough investigation to uncover how such a situation arose.
The party expressed even greater alarm at the subsequent acts of arson and rioting that swept across Udaipur, reportedly led by Hindu organizations. These groups allegedly set fire to parked vehicles and created an atmosphere of fear, with mobs shouting communal slogans such as “Jai Shri Ram” at religious sites belonging to minorities. The CPI(M) condemned these actions, suggesting they are part of a larger conspiracy orchestrated by the BJP and the state’s BJP government, which the party accuses of fostering communal discord.
In a sharp critique of the state government’s response, the CPI(M) condemned the Udaipur Municipal Corporation’s order to demolish the house of the accused student, calling it evidence of a despicable mindset. The party has demanded that the order be immediately revoked and that the state government refrain from targeting the family of the minor involved in the stabbing incident.
The CPI(M) has also called for the injured student to receive free medical treatment under the care of senior doctors at a top-tier hospital. The party insists on a high-level, impartial investigation into the incident at the school level and asserts that while the guilty minor should face appropriate legal consequences, his family should not be subjected to harassment.
Additionally, the CPI(M) has urged the government to take strict action against those attempting to communalize the incident. It advocates for a ban on communal organizations in order to preserve harmony in the state and recommends the implementation of measures to curb rising criminal activities among students, thereby restoring a conducive educational environment in institutions across Rajasthan.
