New Delhi – Darul Uloom Rahmaniya, Sangam Vihar, New Delhi (affiliated with Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama, Lucknow) hosted its annual Dastarbandi ceremony, where six students who completed their Hifz were honored. Additionally, students who excelled in annual examinations and competitions were awarded prizes.
The program commenced with a recitation of the Quran by student Abdul Rahman Salma, followed by tilawat by Showkat Salma and Merajuddin. The chief guest, Dr. Syed Ahmad Khan, delivered an insightful speech, emphasizing the importance of preserving cultural and linguistic heritage, particularly the Urdu language. He highlighted Urdu’s vital role in fostering national unity and encouraged attendees to actively promote and use the language.
Maulana Abdul Malik Farooq, Imam and Khateeb of Rabia Mosque, Jamia Hamdard, addressed the gathering, stressing the significance of utilizing the blessed month of Ramadan in worship and righteous deeds. He urged the audience to commit to these practices.
Presiding over the event, Maulana Muhammad Ikhlaq, Imam and Khateeb of Firdous Mosque, Laxmi Nagar, underscored the value of sincerity and consistency in actions. He advised that even small deeds, when performed with dedication and regularity, yield great rewards. Mufti Asad Nadwi also delivered a concise yet impactful address.
The event was eloquently moderated by renowned scholar and orator, Maulana Arshad Nadwi, Imam of Majidia Mosque, Motilal Nehru Marg, engaging the audience throughout the proceedings.
Concluding the program, the head of the institution, Maulana Meraj Nadwi, expressed gratitude to all attendees. Before the closing supplication led by the president, special recognition was given to outstanding student Ubaid bin Qari Khaliqur Rahman, who recited the entire Quran in one sitting and was awarded by the institution. The event witnessed a large turnout, including local imams, scholars, and community members, who actively participated and benefited from the gathering.
Dr. Athar Ilahi, along with numerous enthusiastic residents, contributed to the success of the event, making it a memorable occasion.
