Death Toll in Lebanon Rises to Over 2,600 amid Escalating Israeli Attacks

The death toll from ongoing Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon has reached 2,653, with 12,360 reported injuries, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry. The escalation, which has intensified since October 8, 2023, follows Israel’s expanded offensive targeting what it claims are Hezbollah positions within Lebanese territory, reports Anadolu News.

On Friday, October 26, at least 19 individuals were killed and 108 others injured in the latest strikes, marking a sharp rise in casualties as the conflict continues. The crisis began with cross-border skirmishes between Israel and Hezbollah but has since grown following Israel’s incursion into southern Lebanon on October 1, 2024.

Despite global warnings that the ongoing hostilities could trigger a regional conflict, the Israeli campaign has expanded, drawing international concern over the humanitarian impact in both Lebanon and Gaza.
