Delhi Man Arrested for Allegedly Delivering Provocative Speech Against Muslims

New Delhi: A man has been arrested in Shastri Park here for allegedly delivering a provocative speech against a particular community. The accused, identified as Vikas Jain, alias Bunty, a resident of the area, reportedly made the speech from a temple’s microphone late Monday night, sparking public outrage.

According to police, the incident occurred around 10:19 pm when Jain allegedly gave a speech targeting the Muslim community on the occasion of Eid-Milad-un-Nabi. The inflammatory remarks were broadcast from the Jain Temple in Shastri Park, leading to unrest among local residents.

Following the speech, a large group of people gathered outside Shastri Park police station to protest, demanding action against the speaker. Protesters accused Jain of promoting enmity and causing communal tension in the area. The demonstration, along with footage of the incident, was widely shared on social media.

A police control room (PCR) call was made, and officers arrived to control the situation. Based on a complaint filed by a local resident named Arman, the police registered a First Information Report (FIR) under Section 196 of the Indian Penal Code (promoting enmity between different groups on the basis of religion, race, or place of birth). Jain was arrested on Tuesday. Police are continuing their investigation into the case, and authorities have appealed for calm in the community.

However, Eid-Milad-un-Nabi procession was carried out peacefully in the Shastri Park area. People from different communities participated, promoting messages of unity, love, and brotherhood in contrast to the earlier provocative incident.
