Aligarh: The Career Counselling and Guidance Cell of the Department of Law at Aligarh Muslim University Centre, Malappuram, hosted a career guidance programme titled “Discovering Opportunities in Legal Field” at the Department’s Board Room. The initiative was designed to provide aspiring legal professionals with expert insights and practical guidance to help them chart successful and purposeful career paths in the legal domain.
The keynote session featured two distinguished speakers who shared perspectives on career development in the legal profession. Mr. Ramakrishna Tanikella, a Corporate Trainer and Psychologist with over two decades of experience and recipient of the Best Corporate Trainer Award in 2014, spoke about the foundational qualities essential for a successful legal career. He highlighted the importance of ethical responsibility, strong interpersonal relationships, and a deep understanding of legal terminology.
Advocate Adiraju Satyanarayana Rao, Senior Advocate at the Telangana High Court and Member of the Governing Council of the National Institute of Amateur Radio, focused on the values of discipline, sincerity, and integrity in legal practice. He urged students to avoid distractions and cultivate clean personal habits, while underscoring the lifelong nature of learning in the legal field.
Later, an interactive question-and-answer session provided students with the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers, clarify doubts, and gain personalised advice on legal careers and professional development.
Earlier, the event commenced with an introductory note by Ms. Afina S.S., Joint Secretary of the Career Counselling and Guidance Cell. Mr. Ghalib Nashter, Coordinator In-Charge, delivered the Welcome Address, highlighting the relevance of career awareness and the department’s efforts in mentoring students.
Dr. Faisal K.P., Director of AMU Malappuram Centre, delivered Inaugural Address in virtual mode. He emphasised the value of strategic career planning and reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to the academic and professional growth of its students. Dr. Deeba Khanam, Faculty Convenor of the Career Counselling and Guidance Cell, expressed her hope that the programme would prove to be a transformative experience for participants.
The programme was coordinated by Mr. Mohammed Sanaullah Khan, General Secretary, with support of Advocate Prabitha C., Teacher-in-Charge. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Md. Zulqarnain, Joint Secretary of the Career Counselling and Guidance Cell.
