Aligarh: Dr Nazia Tauheed, Assistant Professor in the Department of Anaesthesiology at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), has been awarded the prestigious Fellowship in Paediatric Anaesthesiology by the Indian Association of Paediatric Anaesthesiologists (IAPA). The recognition was conferred at the 16th Annual National Conference of IAPA (IAPA-2025) held at the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune.
AMU Vice Chancellor had sanctioned a one-year leave for Academic Pursuit to Dr Nazia Tauheed, during which she completed her 12-month fellowship training at the Post Graduate Institute of Child Health (PGICH), Noida. During this period, she gained specialised expertise in administering anaesthesia to neonates, infants, and children. The intensive training equipped her with advanced skills and knowledge to manage complex paediatric patients for anaesthesia and surgery, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and care.
Prof Hammad Usmani, Chairman of the Department of Anaesthesiology, congratulated Dr Nazia on her achievement. He noted that her accomplishment would significantly enhance the department’s capacity to manage challenging paediatric cases and ensure the safe delivery of anaesthesia to the future torchbearers of the nation.
