Hyderabad, Sep 9: Dr. Razi-ul-Islam Nadwi, a distinguished Islamic scholar and researcher, recently delivered a thought-provoking lecture at the esteemed Al-Mahad Al-Aali Al-Islami here. The event, which was eagerly attended by a large number of students and faculty members, focused on the crucial topic of “Research Methodology in Islamic Studies.” Dr. Nadwi’s presence was a grand opportunity for the attendees to gain insights from his vast experience and scholarly expertise.

Dr. Nadwi’s visit to Al-Mahad Al-Aali Al-Islami was facilitated by Huzaifa Ansari, who coordinated with Maulana Omar Abideen Qasmi, a key figure at the institution. Despite having visited Hyderabad multiple times, this was Dr. Nadwi’s first opportunity to engage with the students of this prestigious institute. Maulana Qasmi not only warmly welcomed Dr. Nadwi but also arranged for him to address the students, providing them with a unique opportunity to learn directly from a scholar of his caliber.

Al-Mahad Al-Aali Al-Islami, founded in 2000 by Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, President of All India Muslim Personal Law Board, is renowned for its focus on developing specialization in various Islamic sciences. The institute is particularly famous for its Department of Fiqh, attracting students from diverse backgrounds, owing to Maulana Rahmani’s international recognition in Islamic jurisprudence. The institute also offers specialized courses in Quran, Hadith, Comparative Religion, and English language, alongside organizing seminars and symposiums on contemporary issues.

Dr. Nadwi’s lecture on “Research Methodology in Islamic Studies” was a pivotal event for the students and faculty. His detailed discussion emphasized the importance of writing as a powerful tool in Islamic research. He outlined the essential guidelines that researchers should follow before, during, and after composing scholarly articles. His lecture, which lasted for an hour, was received with great enthusiasm, with students paying close attention to his every word.

The session concluded with a Q&A segment, which was originally scheduled for ten minutes but extended to half an hour due to the overwhelming interest from the students. Their insightful questions demonstrated a deep interest in enhancing their writing and research skills.

Al-Mahad Al-Aali Al-Islami also houses a specialized Research Training Department, where students receive scholarships and, based on their performance, may be appointed as researchers within the department. This initiative aligns with the institute’s mission to cultivate academic excellence and contribute to the broader field of Islamic scholarship.

Dr. Razi-ul-Islam Nadwi’s lecture was a valuable experience for the students and faculty of Al-Mahad Al-Aali Al-Islami, leaving a lasting impact on their academic and spiritual journey. His insights into research methodology are expected to inspire and guide the next generation of Islamic scholars at the institution.
