Dwarka Court Delivers Historic Verdict, Allows Burials in Dabri Graveyard Case

Committee Honours Renowned TV Panellist and Advocate Raees Ahmad

New Delhi: After a prolonged legal battle, the Dwarka Court in South West Delhi delivered a historic verdict in the Dabri graveyard case. Granting relief to the Waqf Graveyard Committee, the court issued an interim order allowing burials in the graveyard, ruling against the illegal obstruction by the defendants.

Significantly, the Court based its decision on the evidence and strong arguments presented by Advocate Raees Ahmad and his legal team. Furthermore, the court issued a stay order prohibiting any interference from the defendants in the burial process until the final resolution of the case.

Notably, the court recognised that the Dabri graveyard has existed for over 100 years and has been in public use, declaring any form of interference by the defendants as unlawful.

Following this fair and just decision, the Dabri Waqf Graveyard Committee honoured Advocate Raees Ahmad for his representation in the matter. The committee also expressed gratitude to his legal team, especially NC Sharma, Shiv Kumar Chauhan, Aslam Ahmad, Tariq Farooqi, and others for their valuable support.

Advocate Raees Ahmad is also handling several other Waqf-related cases and has participated in over 100 television debates on Waqf and related issues across national TV channels. He has also filed four petitions related to the Waqf Act in the Supreme Court of India.

On the occasion of the felicitation ceremony, the committee president Mohammad Iqbal, vice president Ahmad Ali, general secretary Azizur Rahman, and members Mohammad Sultan, Mahfooz, Anwar, Suhail Khan, Zaheer Khan, Rafeeq, Dr. Iqrar, and others were present.
