New Delhi: The Markazi Taleemi Board (MTB), All India Teachers’ Association (AITA), and Federation of Muslim Educational Institutions (FMEI) joined hands to organise an online training session titled “Parenting Classes: Need, Scope, and Methodology.” The session was conducted by Dr. Khan Mubashsharah Firdous, Assistant Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), and focused on the principles, importance, and practical methods of effective parenting education.

The training session highlighted the critical role of parents in shaping their children’s emotional, ethical, and academic development. Dr. Firdous emphasised the need for a holistic approach to parenting that incorporates emotional, social, and ethical dimensions.

“Parenting is not just a role but an art that requires knowledge, patience, and empathy. Our aim is to create skilled trainers who can empower parents to build meaningful relationships with their children and guide them toward a bright future,” Dr. Firdous said.

The session explored several key themes, including the crucial role of parenting classes in emphasising the importance of parents in a child’s development. It also delved into the scope of parenting education, addressing critical areas such as effective communication, discipline, emotional well-being, and character building. Furthermore, the session provided practical techniques for conducting impactful parenting sessions, incorporating interactive activities, case studies, and real-life examples to enhance their effectiveness.

The session was attended by educators, trainers, and representatives from various educational institutions. Dr. Khan Mubashsharah Firdous also answered participants’ questions related to child upbringing and modern parenting challenges and solutions.

Participants appreciated the session for its practical relevance. One participant remarked, “This program has been an eye-opener. It has equipped me with the skills and confidence to guide parents effectively in today’s complex world.”

This collaborative initiative by MTB, AITA, and FMEI reflect their shared commitment to community development through education. Building on the success of this session, the organizers announced plans to conduct similar programs on topics related to education, family welfare, and community development.

This training marks an important step in fostering stronger family values and equipping parents with the tools to face today’s parenting challenges effectively.
