Effective Parenting Essential for Kids’ Development in Modern Times: JIH Assistant Secretary Dr. Mubashshira Firdous

New Delhi: An online training session was recently organised by the Central Education Board (MTB), All India Ideal Teachers Association (AIITA), and Federation of Muslim Educational Institutions (FMEI). The session, titled “Parenting Classes: Need, Scope, and Methodology,” featured a lecture by Dr. Mubashshira Firdous, Assistant Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, who emphasised the principles, importance, and practical approaches to parental training.

The session brought together educators, trainers, and representatives from various educational institutions. Dr. Firdous highlighted the need for effective parenting to address the complex challenges of modern times and also responded to participants’ queries regarding child development and parental responsibilities.

The training session covered topics like understanding the role of parents in a child’s development and the societal benefits of effective parenting; addressing critical issues such as effective communication with children, discipline, emotional well-being, and character-building; and, conducting impactful sessions with parents using interactive activities, case studies, and real-life examples.

Dr. Firdous stressed the importance of adopting a holistic approach to parental training. She remarked, “Parenting is an art that requires knowledge, patience, and empathy. The aim of this session is to prepare master trainers who can guide parents in building strong, meaningful relationships with their children and paving the way for a brighter future.”

The joint effort by MTB, AIITA, and FEMI aims to promote community welfare through education. This training session marked a significant step toward the holistic development of families and individuals, with a strong focus on the foundational role of parents.

Participants praised the session’s relevance and effectiveness. One trainer shared, “This session was an eye-opener. It gave me the confidence to address modern parenting challenges effectively.”

The programme’s success has inspired plans for future training sessions on topics related to education, family welfare, and community development. Organisers announced their commitment to conducting more sessions to address the evolving needs of families and communities.
