Bidar: On April 6, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Bidar organised a grand Eid Milan and interfaith harmony programme at the auditorium of Dr. Channabaswapatta Devar Ranga Mandira in the city. The event witnessed the participation of religious leaders from various faiths, social activists, intellectuals, and citizens from all walks of life.

The chief guest of the event, Minister for Urban Development Mr. Rahim Khan, in his address said:

“Every year, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind organises such Eid Milan gatherings not only in Bidar but across Karnataka and throughout India. By bringing together people of different religions, these programmes promote mutual understanding and social unity, which is truly commendable. At a time when communal harmony is under threat, such efforts serve as a powerful response to hate. Eid Milan reminds us that our real identity lies in our shared humanity, not in our religious or ethnic differences.”

Presiding over the event, Mr. Ishaq Puttur highlighted the destructive impact of communalism and religious hatred. He stated:

“Communalism and hate cut through the lifeblood of humanity. These mindsets deeply damage the spirit of togetherness, mutual trust, and the overall progress of the nation. Staying silent in such circumstances amounts to complicity. It is our duty to speak out and stand against such divisive ideologies.”

He further added:

“Eid Milan gatherings are sincere attempts to counter communalism. They offer a platform for people of different faiths to come together, communicate, and understand one another. This kind of meaningful interaction is the real remedy to the poison of hatred and division.”

The interfaith event also featured speeches by Father Cleary D’Souza, Buddhist leader Bhante Dhammananda Maha Thero, Giani Darbara Singh, Maulana Muhammad Muns Kirmani, Maulvi Muhammad Faheemuddin, and Brahma Kumari Jyoti Behn, all of whom emphasized the pressing need for inter-religious harmony, ethical values, and mutual respect in today’s society.

The programme commenced with a soulful recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Hafiz Syed Atiqullah.

Opening remarks were presented by the local Ameer, Muhammad Moazzam, and the event was ably compered by Muhammad Nizamuddin.

People from various walks of life – men, women, youth, and senior citizens – attended the programme in large numbers and appreciated it as a meaningful, warm, and unifying experience.
