Elect a Party that Works for Maharashtra, Not Gujarat: Dr. Syed Nasir Hussain

Mumbai: Congress Working Committee member Dr. Syed Nasir Hussain has urged Maharashtra’s voters to choose a party dedicated to their state’s welfare, rather than the interests of Gujarat. Criticising BJP-led Centre and Maha Yuti government, he alleged that the current administration favours Gujarat’s development over Maharashtra’s, depriving the state of crucial opportunities and jobs.

“The Eknath Shinde-Devendra Fadnavis-Ajit Pawar government is not serving Maharashtra; instead, they’re prioritising Gujarat. Major contracts have been handed over to Gujarat-based contractors, and projects that should have been implemented in Maharashtra, like Tata-Airbus, Vedanta-Foxconn, and the diamond industry hub, have been shifted to Gujarat, taking away valuable local jobs,” Dr. Hussain asserted.

“This government has become synonymous with a ‘40% commission,’ breaking records in corruption. From Rs.10,000 crore Jalyukt Shivar scam to Rs.8,000 crore ambulance scam and a Rs.6,000 crore road scam in Mumbai – these are just a few examples,” he noted. He claimed that companies making large electoral bond donations to BJP were awarded major contracts in Maharashtra.

“Despite accusing leaders like Ajit Pawar, Ravindra Waikar, and Ashok Chavan of corruption in the past, BJP now welcomes them without hesitation,” he said, accusing the ruling party of using agencies like CBI and ED to pressure opposition leaders and manipulate state governments.

Urging Maharashtra’s electorate to take inspiration from Karnataka, where BJP was recently defeated by the Congress, Dr. Hussain pointed to mounting issues affecting the common people.
