Bhadrachalam, May 26: In a bid to uplift local women, the Women’s Wing of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), Bhadrachalam, has inaugurated the Al Khair Tailoring Centre at the Jama Masjid here today. The chief guest, Dr. Ayesha Sultana – a member of Aware Trust, Assistant Editor of Radiance, and esteemed social activist – officially opened the centre with a compelling speech on khidmat-e-khalq (service to humanity) in Islam. She emphasized the importance of self-empowerment and encouraged women to strive for self-reliance.
The event saw the attendance of several notable women leaders, including Mekala Latha, District President of Mahajana Mahila Samaikhya (MMS); Laxmi, State President of the All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA); Leelaawathi, District President of AIDWA; and Shameem, a prominent Muslim women’s leader from Bhadrachalam. Representatives from various social organizations were also present.
Led by Ayesha, President of the JIH Women’s Wing in Bhadrachalam, the program included participation from key members such as Rafath from JIH, and attendees from Sarapaka.
This initiative represents a significant stride in empowering women within the community by providing them with vital skills and opportunities to improve their socio-economic status.
