Dehradun: The National General Body Meeting of All India Unani Tibbi Congress was held at Tasmia Campus, Dehradun, under the chairmanship of Professor Mushtaq Ahmad.
Prof. Mohammad Idris, former Principal of A&U Tibbia College, Karol Bagh, New Delhi, attended the meeting as a special invitee, while the keynote address was delivered by Dr. Syed Ahmad Khan, Secretary General of All India Unani Tibbi Congress (AIUTC).
The meeting was also attended by Prof. Syed Mohammad Arif Zaidi, National President, AIUTC Academic Wing; and Professor Nafasat Ali Ansari, National Secretary, AIUTC Academic Wing, along with a large number of prominent participants from across the country, including Dr. Shehnaz Parveen, Advocate Shah Jabeen Qazi, Dr. Khursheed Alam, Dr. Faheem Malik, and several other doctors, academicians, and dignitaries associated with the Unani medical fraternity.
During the meeting, participants held detailed discussions on the standards, challenges, and possible solutions concerning Tibbia colleges. It was recommended that the establishment of government Unani medical colleges be ensured in every state.
The meeting further recommended that Unani medicine be given equal opportunities for development at every level under the Union Government’s AYUSH component. Participants emphasised that the promotion and advancement of Unani medicine depends significantly on Tibbia colleges, and therefore urged that appropriate government grants be extended to hospitals affiliated with private Unani medical colleges.
