ALIGARH – More than 100 Muslim families in Chilkora village, Aligarh, have received eviction notices from the local administration, leaving them facing the imminent threat of demolition if they fail to vacate their homes within 15 days after Eid, reported the Clarion India.
The notices, issued just days before Eid, have cast a shadow of distress over the community. Authorities have not provided any explanation for the eviction orders, intensifying the uncertainty among residents.
The affected families, who claim to have resided in the village for over five decades, have submitted legal documents, including “Bainama” (sale deeds), to the District Magistrate in an effort to prove their ownership of the land.
In BJP-ruled states such as Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, and Assam, similar incidents of demolitions targeting Muslim homes and businesses have been reported, often carried out under the pretext of administrative actions.
As the deadline looms, the people of Chilkora village remain gripped by fear and uncertainty, anxiously awaiting the administration’s next move.
