New Delhi: Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair has claimed that two Hindu men from Bihar, who disguised themselves as Muslims and were caught in North Bengal in March, are being falsely linked to the recent Murshidabad violence. In a post on X , Zubair stated that Bengali daily Khabar 365 Din ran a misleading report on April 14, connecting the earlier March incident with the communal tension in Murshidabad.
According to Zubair, this misinformation has now been amplified by Trinamool Congress MP Sagarika Ghose, further spreading a false narrative. He also tagged journalist @Shinjineemjmdr in his post, suggesting her involvement in either reporting or supporting the claim.
The attempt to connect unrelated events, especially in a sensitive communal context, has raised concerns among fact-checkers and rights groups who warn against the dangerous consequences of misinformation.
