Bhatkal: Fikrokhabar, a Bhatkal-based news portal, has announced its Online Naat Competition 2025 for children in coastal Karnataka. The event will be held during the month of Rabi al-Awwal to celebrate the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad.
The organisers said the competition aims to encourage children to recite Naats and express their devotion through poetry. The digital format has been introduced to make participation easier and to allow children from across the region to take part.
The contest is open to boys up to 13 years and girls up to 8 years. Each participant is required to submit a video recording of their recital, limited to three minutes. The entries will be received through an online form, and the contest has been divided into categories based on age and gender to ensure fairness.
According to the organisers, the programme is more than a competition. It is also a learning opportunity for children to reflect on the life of the Prophet, strengthen their connection with Islamic teachings, and develop a deeper appreciation for devotional poetry. It also promotes memorisation and presentation skills.
Parents and guardians interested in registering their children have been asked to contact the coordinators for information about deadlines, judging criteria, and prizes. The organisers have provided phone numbers for further queries.
The initiative highlights the growing use of online platforms to promote cultural and spiritual activities among children, while also keeping alive the tradition of Naat recitation.
