First Inter School Science Exhibition Held in Gulbarga

Gulbarga: First inter school science and research exhibition at city level was held in Gulbarga yesterday. The collaborative effort of Dolphin English School Gulbarga and AJ Academy for Research and Development, Raichur gave an ample opportunity to tender minds to exhibit their talents and ignite scientific temperament.

The spacious State Function Palace Hall witnessed 75 projects prepared by 125 students from various schools.

Fifth standard girl Tamanna bagged first prize in the Budding Scientists – Individual category for her ‘Floating egg on salt water’ experiment, while fourth standard students Shiv Putr and Rishab from Nutan Vidyalaya secured prize in the same level group category for their ‘Solar Power driven agriculture’ project.

In the Emerging Scientists – Individual category Nida Tahreem from Dolphin School secured first place for her experiment on Multiple Benefits of Banana. Group award in the same category went to Iqra Tahreem, Adeeba Anam and Zohra Tabassum of Husain Public School who displayed the ‘Alternative Method of Paper Manufacturing’. Special award in the same category went to sixth standard students Mohammed Siddiq and Syed Rizwan of Orbis International School for their ‘Garbage Disposal in Gulbarga’ project.

In the Young Scientists – Individual category award was bagged by ninth standard girl Umme Aiman from Husain Public School who presented a research project about cultivation of Papaya in mud. In the same level Group category two ninth standard students Ibrahim and Amir from Grammar Multi Media School won the prize for their project about preparation of ink out of carbon and pollution.

The prize distribution programme was graced by dignitaries of the city, teachers and parents of the participant students.
