Vijayapura: First all Karnataka literary meet for the visually challenged persons was held here recently. In his presidential remarks, Basavanand said it is first of its kind in India. The presidential address spread over 15 pages was provided to the participants in brail language.
Participants presented their prose, poetry, fiction and literary pieces in different sessions. In a joint statement the litterateurs have put forth several demands before the government for the betterment of the visually impaired in Karnataka.
The meet was jointly organised by Karnataka and Andhra Sahitya Parishads, and Jnanayoga Ashram Vijayapura.
