To discuss ways and means for further development of AMU Centre at Murshidabad, West Bengal, five Members of Parliament held a discussion with the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Naima Khatoon on Tuesday.
The MPs who called on AMU-VC included Khalilur Rahman, MP from Jangipur, Abu Taher Khan, MP from Murshidabad, Mitali Bag, MP from Arambagh, Asit Kumar Mal, MP from Bolpur, and Nadimul Haque, MP (Rajya Sabha).
The Vice Chancellor welcomed the MPs, who gave valuable suggestions on increasing AMU’s role in the educational development of the region. The Vice-Chancellor apprised them of the present state of functioning of the Murshidabad Centre and assured them of all possible efforts in this regard. AMU is running three courses (BA LLB, B.Ed and MBA) at its Murshidabad Centre established in 2010.
The meeting was attended by other University officials, including Dean Students’ Welfare, Prof Rafiuddin; Registrar, Mohammad Imran IPS; Proctor, Prof M. Wasim Ali; Controller of Exams Dr. Mujibullah Zuberi; Coordinator AMU Centres, Prof Mohammad Tariq, Director Murshidabad Centre, Dr. M. Mohboobur Rahman, and OSDs.
