Hunsur: Former MLA HP Manjunath visited the ongoing construction of a Jamia Masjid near old bridge here. A few days before he had donated 2 lakh rupees for the construction. Taking keen interest in the construction of Masjid, he reviewed the work in progress.
The three-time MLA Manjunath had lost the last election with thin margin. He assured the Masjid authorities to seek government grants for the Masjid and houses for Imam and Muazzin of the Masjid too.
Hunsur is well-known for timber trade, especially teak in Mysore district. Another important trade activity is tobacco growing and tobacco auctions.
Manjunath was felicitated by Mohammed Aslam, president of the Masjid and other office bearers.
