Foundation Stone Laid for ‘Masjid Abrar’ Alongside Huffaz Graduation at Madrasa Zia-ul-Uloom, Jamiatul Abrar, Darbhanga

Darbhanga: In a momentous occasion, the foundation stone for Masjid Abrar was laid alongside the annual Hifz Graduation Ceremony at Madrasa Zia-ul-Uloom, Jamiatul Abrar, on Sunday, February 9, 2025. The event, held in Tali Gumti, Maurya, Darbhanga, saw the participation of esteemed scholars, spiritual elders, and hundreds of community members.

Founded in 2003, Madrasa Zia-ul-Uloom has earned a distinguished reputation in the region, having produced hundreds of Huffaz under the leadership of Maulana Hafiz Muhammad Ziauddin Qasmi. The institution has thrived under the patronage of revered scholars such as Maulana Shah Abrar-ul-Haq Hardoi and Maulana Hakim Kaleemullah Saheb.

The ceremony honored students who completed the memorization of the Holy Quran, awarding them certificates and prizes. The highlight of the event was the laying of the first brick of Masjid Abrar by Maulana Izhar-ul-Haq Mazahiri, administrator of Jamia Islamia Ashraf-ul-Uloom, Sitamarhi. The mosque, designed to accommodate 500 worshippers, aims to serve both madrasa students and travelers on the Maurya-Tali Gumti to Riam highway.

Addressing the gathering, Maulana Ziauddin Qasmi urged philanthropists to support the mosque’s construction. He emphasized that the mosque will not only facilitate the students and teachers of the madrasa, particularly for Jumu’ah prayers, but will also serve the travelers and passersby along the Maurya-Tali Gumti to Riam highway, providing them with a place for convenient prayer. The event concluded with Dhuhr prayers and a communal lunch for all attendees.
