Free Health Camp at Tamil Nadu’s Ambur: Doctors join hands with helppme.in

 – Rimsha Suha M

“…and whoever saves a life, it will be as if they saved all of humanity.”

(Al-Qur’an 5:32)

On the early morning of October 18th, 2025, Ambur, a bustling town in Tamil Nadu’s Thirupattur District, witnessed a powerful example of youth-led change as helppme.in, the town’s first public utility platform, conducted a free medical camp, aiming to bring accessible healthcare directly to the people. What started as a student-led startup has now developed into a stronger resource for the local people.

helppme.in, a powerful mission:

“The best of people are those who are most beneficial to others.” – Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” – Mahatma Gandhi

The powerful journey of helppme.in began in the final years of college, when two youngsters from Ambur, aspiring entrepreneurs Muhammad Aafaque and Mohammed Sajeel, co-founded the town’s first-ever public utility platform.

Their solution was simple yet innovative: a no-login, no-app, web-based platform offering verified contacts for emergency services, such as hospitals, ambulances, blood banks, local drivers, and plumbers, all in one place. It is simple, accessible, and community-first.

Their mission is clear: every day, accessing public services should be simple. With helppme.in, help is always just a click away.

Highlights of the Free Medical Camp

The event, held from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, brought together compassionate professionals and volunteers united by a single goal: “to serve”.

The camp provided a wide range of health screenings and consultations, completely free of cost, especially for individuals who may not have access to regular healthcare.

To ensure specialised medical attention, helppme.in collaboration with two leading medical centres in Ambur:

Sri Priyam Medical Speciality Centre – offered diagnostic tests for thyroid, haemoglobin, blood sugar, cholesterol, and specialty consultations.

Misba Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation Centre – provided treatment guidance for stroke, Parkinson’s disease, arthritis, slip disc, and cerebral palsy.

The camp was powered by the expertise of Dr. Mubarak Ali (MPT., CSDNP., MIAP) – Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation; and Dr. Srimaan S (MBBS, MD – General Medicine).

Their dedication ensured high-quality care and encouraged the public to adopt preventive health habits.

Voices from the Camp

I asked the co-founder, Muhammad Aafaque, what motivates him to dedicate himself to this cause. He shared,

“I don’t claim titles front lines, just a heart ready to help those who deserve care.”

His words were a reminder that true commitment doesn’t seek the spotlight; it comes from the heart, from the efforts we put in.

While sharing his experience, he added,

“This is just the beginning of our free medical camps. Although the location was finalised only two days prior, and it was posted through social media platforms, the response was very encouraging. We expect even more participation next time, as the doctors have promised to collaborate on future camps with helppme.in.”

On the quality of patient care, he noted,

“The doctors were satisfied with the patients they saw; most were genuine cases requiring further treatment. I personally interacted with almost all the patients, asked them if they knew helppme.in and much more.”

At the end, he said,

“I saw many leaving with humility and smiles on their faces.”

One of the patients shared,

“I’m very happy with the entire experience. Everything was well-organised, and the doctors explained everything in detail, which I really appreciated.”

helppme.in’s manager Niha Fathima said,

“I was really excited that helppme.in organised this camp. Alhamdulillah, all the doctors were wonderful, they spoke calmly and patiently, making the whole experience very comforting.”

Impact and Conclusion

Around 50 patients benefited from the camp. Beyond check-ups and consultations, the event highlighted the power of collaboration. By partnering with local medical centres, helppme.in showcased how collective effort can transform healthcare from a privilege into a shared right.

This medical camp was more than an event; it was a step toward a healthier, stronger community, where access to care is simple, compassionate, and inclusive.

The co-founders of helppme.in have already begun expanding their work to nearby towns such as Pernambut, Vaniyambadi, Gudiyattam, and Tirupattur. With these ongoing efforts, they aim to soon take the initiative city-wide and beyond.
