Free Medical Camp Promotes Health Awareness, Tobacco Cessation

– Raheem Khan

Jaipur: The World Organization of Religion and Knowledge hosted a successful free medical camp to celebrate the conclusion of Rabi-ul-Awwal. The event provided essential medical services, including treatment for addictions – both dry and wet – tobacco cessation, diabetes screenings, blood pressure checks, paediatric care, and treatment for various stomach ailments.

The camp took place at the Idgah near Madina Masjid in Ward No. 76, attracting over 350 attendees, both women and men, who benefited from the services offered. Esteemed healthcare professionals, including senior doctors, psychologists, and homeopathic practitioners, were on hand to assist patients.

Syed Asgar Ali, spokesperson for the organization, said the camp received significant support from local leaders, including Ward Councilor Suhail Mansuri. The event also saw contributions from notable figures such as Madina Masjid President Abid Ali and other senior residents who helped ensure smooth operations.

Highlighting the rising tobacco consumption among all demographics, Work Rajasthan Head Like Hasan emphasized the necessity for public awareness regarding the dangers of tobacco use. “The increasing consumption of tobacco among women, men, and children is no less than an addiction,” he stated. “It leads you to dry and wet addictions. We must educate our community to prevent tobacco use.”

Work Women Head Alia Rahman encouraged attendees to make a personal commitment to abstain from tobacco during this blessed month. The camp featured a team of qualified professionals, including Dr. Balsingh Bes, a state-appointed chief physician and psychologist specializing in tobacco cessation, along with various specialists addressing pediatric care and drug rehabilitation.

The initiative provided free treatment and medications to 352 patients, significantly supporting the state government’s ongoing tobacco cessation campaign. The efforts of the Work organization, led by Like Hasan, received commendations for their commitment to public health and community welfare.
